with the Denton Independent School District administration.
Goals:
To encourage academic excellence
To facilitate innovative educational activities
To promote continued community involvement in the schools
The financial goal for the Foundation is to build a $1.0 million
dollar endowment by the year 2010.
About Us
The Denton Public School Foundat
ion is a non-profit 501(C)(3)
corporation founded for the purpose of raising and providing support
for the teachers and students of Denton ISD. Monies raised are invested
and distributed through a competitive grant and scholarship program.
In 2002, the Foundation distributed over $28,000 to Denton teachers
in grants and scholarships. In spring 2003, the Foundation will
distribute another $6,000+ to deserving graduates of DISD high schools.

The Denton Public School Foundation - with the help and support
of all local PTA and PTSA units, as well as the RHS ROTC - recently
won $5,000 from Foley's through their Charity Day Fundraiser. With
total Foundation-sponsored ticket sales in excess of 1100, these
groups earned over $5500 for their efforts. Because the Foundation-sponsored
groups sold the most total tickets, the Foundation was awarded
$2500. Additionally, the largest number of admission tickets used
for Foley's Charity Sale Day were Foundation-sponsored - resulting
in an additional $2500 award. All local participating groups were
able to raise funds for their groups - so everyone won!
The Denton Public School Foundation and the Denton PTACouncil
wish to thank all those who participated by purchasing tickets
from any participating non-profit group and to thank Foley's in
particular for investing over $10,500 in Denton ISD groups.
