Mrs. Attaya's First Grade

PC the School Cat Visits

Persuade the Principal

Our class wrote letters to the principal persuading her to let P.C. the School Cat visit our classroom for a morning. First, we talked about why it would be good for us and good for P.C. the cat.

Then we reviewed proper letter form and began writing! When you write a letter to the principal, you have to edit for spelling and punctuation. And you have to use your best handwriting!

The letters were terrific, don't you agree?

And our principal responded with a letter informing us that we had been quite persuasive indeed. HOORAY! Time to tidy up the room and get ready for the visit!

PC Visits

On Monday morning our principal brought P.C. to our class.

P.C. looks ready to go!

Let's see what a morning in 1st grade is like!

P.C. took a tour of our classroom and looked around to see what we were learning.

What does a school cat do when all of the children are reading? PC found a book to read (but he didn't want to sit still long enough for us to read to him - maybe next time!)

While we worked, P.C. played with his toys and rested.

We thought we had done a good job of cleaning up our room, but while we were having a math lesson, PC found one of our teddy bear counters and batted it across the room with his paws.

PC the school cat loves those math manipulatives!

And then PC got a little more adventurous.

He found a place to hide behind our sink.

Where's PC?

Here kitty, kitty!

Come out PC!

We coaxed him out with a favorite toy. PHEW!

We're glad PC is safe and happy!

Such a sweet, clever school cat.

We love you, PC.

Come back to visit again some day!

Can we PERSUADE you to write?

meow!
