Mrs. Attaya's First Grade Class Frequently Asked Questions What guidelines do you follow for posting student work and photographs on the web site? Denton ISD has developed guidelines for posting student photographs and work on a web site. A few of the guidelines are as follows: Parent written permission must be obtained before I can post a photograph or work sample of a student. I send home a written permission form with students at the beginning of the year and keep it on file. Individual student photographs my not be published on the site. Students in a photograph can not be identified by name. Student work may only be identified with a first name.   How much time do students spend in literacy stations each day? I allow about 45 minutes for literacy stations each day. The stations activities generally take this much time. I plan extensions for acivities for those who tend to work more quickly. Students who do not complete an activity store unfinished work in the designated area and finish it at the start of stations the following day. How many students do you have in your class? We have 22 students in our class. In Texas the maximum student to teacher ratio in grades K-4 is 22:1, so we have a full class this year.   Where do you get ideas for your classroom? Like all good teachers, I get ideas anywhere I can find them! The content presented on the site is a combination of original ideas, activities shared by other teachers, activites that have evolved through student interest and student input, and activites found in professional resources. I have made an effort to give credit where it is due and to site resources used for units of study. I am a strong believer that we all benefit by sharing information and ideas. Many ideas were developed while I was teaching Multi-age with two teachers whom I dearly love and respect - Linda and Charlotte. Though we no longer teach in the same district, I know that they are each only a phone call away and are as eager as ever to share. The internet offers us all a way to peek into each others classrooms- what fun!   Questions?
